On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September 2021 on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the great cultural event organised on the initiative of the Council of Europe in collaboration with the EU Commission and promoted in Italy by the Ministry of Culture through the Directorate-General for Museums, the Venosa Museum and Archaeological Park and the Rotary Club of Venosa (under the patronage of the Basilicata Region, the Basilicata Tourist Board, the UNESCO Club of Vulture, the ProLoco Basilicata and the Municipality of Venosa) have organised a series of initiatives at the Castello Pirro del Balzo in line with the theme chosen for this year’s edition: “Heritage: All inclusive“.
This theme is intended as a reflection on inclusive participation in cultural heritage for all citizens, without distinction. In the context of these reflections, Professor Arthur gave a talk entitled ‘The invisible heritage of Byzantine Italy‘.
